PASTOR MERRILL R. GRIFFIN

Merrill Griffin, the son of the late Mildred Brogden and Charles Merrill Griffin, was born on August 14, 1965, in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the husband of Terry Griffin and the proud father of Corday and Chelsy Griffin.

He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Carver Vocational Technical High School in 1983. Upon graduating from high school, Pastor Griffin pursued a career in law enforcement and corrections, where he worked until his retirement in June 2009.

In 1996, Pastor Griffin rededicated his life to Christ and the ministry. God led Pastor Griffin back to his home church, the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where he acknowledged his call to preach in December 2000. On June 3rd 2001, Pastor Griffin preached his initial sermon and was licensed to preach by his father in the ministry, the late Rev. Dr. Arthur J. Benn. While at Mt. Moriah, Pastor Grifffin served as Minister of Missions, Minister of Evangelism, advisor to the Benn Chorale Ensemble, and instructor for the New Members Class.

Pastor Griffin served as Vice President of the student body at the United Baptist College & Seminary, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. He also studied Non-Profit Management and Administration at the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore. Pastor Griffin has completed a Biblical Studies program at Howard University’s School of Divinity, and founded C.O.U.C.H. Inc. (Christian Officers United to help Children in Homes), an advocacy program for neglected and abused children. Pastor Griffin sits on the Board of Directors of The Park Heights Faith Based Community Development Center.

On Sunday, May 6, 2007, after six months of bible study, Soul Harvest Church & Ministries had its inaugural service under the leadership of its founder, Pastor Merrill R. Griffin. Since that time, Soul Harvest has grown tremendously under his leadership with ministries and programs such as the Harvest Emergency Food Distribution Center, The Harvest Kingdom Enrichment Program, the adoption of local schools, and many more too numerous to name. Pastor Griffin believes that all things are possible through Christ that strengthens him. His favorite scripture is 1st Timothy 4:12, which states, “Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity in spirit, in faith and in purity”.

LADY TERRY GRIFFIN

Lady Terry Griffin is deeply committed to the work of the Lord and she has a servant’s heart. She is a humble woman of God and will assure you that if you only BELIEVE, all things are possible through Christ. Lady Terry followed the vision that God gave her husband, in the birthing of The Soul Harvest Church and Ministries. She began fulfilling every duty necessary during this birthing season, in addition to standing by her husband’s side in ministry. She opened Bible Study weekly with devotions along with teaching Youth Bible Study every Tuesday Night. Lady Terry also organized the church’s Praise Team, Usher’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Pastor’s Aide Ministry as well as other ministries necessary for the Kingdom of God. She currently serves as President of the Praise Team, Advisor to the Youth Ministry as well as the Women of Worth, Ministry Leader. As First Lady, she makes it her priority to reach out to all that come to Soul Harvest and greet them with love and assure them that she is always available to talk, pray, counsel and encourage them.

Lady Terry exemplifies the Great Commission of Jesus the Christ, which is found in Matthew 28: 18-20. She is blessed with a spirit of Excellence, Commitment and Integrity, believing that God will get the Glory out of her life as long as she continues to be a soldier in His army and bring healing to the Body of Christ.

Lady Terry Yvonne Griffin, is happily married to Pastor Merrill R. Griffin. She cherishes her role as a wife and mother to Chelsy and Corday and grandmother to Caleb. She is the second oldest of four children to Elder Emmanuel Vaughn and Missionary Lottie Vaughn-Clay. Lady Terry was baptized and received the filling of the Holy Ghost at The First Apostolic Faith Church, where she was born and raised. When Lady Terry married in August of 1998 she changed her membership and began worshipping with her husband at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Lady Terry will forever and always Worship, Praise and Thank God for the life that He has blessed her with.
